DR. SUDHIR KUMAR heads the Automobile Engineering Dept. He had completed M.Sc (Engg) – in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in M/c Design in 1984 from RIT Jamshedpur. He had acquired short term qualifications in Project Management from Arthur D’ Little USA & XLRI Jamshedpur. He had also completed Management Develop program from NITTE, Mumbai and Finance for Nonfinancial Executives from Tata Management Training Center Pune.

He has worked at different technical and administrative positions in Tata Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur. Some of the major projects handled in his tenure at Tata Steel are Gas Cleaning Plant of Blast Furnaces, Blast furnace Maintenance, Material Handling & Processing Systems, Dust Extraction Systems, Lime Calcination Kilns, Aerial Ropeways, Power Plants, Open Cast Mining Equipment, Steel Making and Refining Systems, Continuous Casting of Steel. He has also worked as Regional Manager, Eastern Region for SMS Concast Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. Co (A subsidiary of Multinational Company of Switzerland).

He is a Fellow member of Institution of engineers (India), Life member of Value Engineering Society of India and Charted Engineer (IEI India).
