Diploma VS Degree: Polytechnic education offers an engineering diploma whereas B.Tech. is a degree course and offers a full-fledged engineering degree upon completion of course. Polytechnic is a three-year course whereas B. Tech is a four-year course.

Job Prospects after competition of course: Polytechnic students generally appears and fulfil position of junior engineers after competition of their course and B.Tech students get posted as Engineers (process engineer, software engineer etc.) as per there stream of engineering.
Fees: Polytechnic diploma are cheaper to pursue when compared to a B.Tech. Degree as per semester tuition fee and institutional expenses are less for Polytechnic degrees, secondly Polytechnic course are 3 years course whereas engineering is a 4 years course which means one full year of fees payments and other expenses.
