i-Analytica: The IT-BA Club, GIMS, organized a 4-day Value Added Certificate (VAC) Programme on the “Blockchain Technology” in collaboration with MSME- TDC for the students of PGDM 2020-22 from October 14th to 17th, 2021. The programme rendered in-depth knowledge of the core concept of the Blockchain domain. The students learned the technology’s deep understanding and worked on real-life use-cases being implemented in the industries. The certificate programme had an evaluation component of the project and developing use-case in a particular situation. The aspiring managers were open to the concept of how this technology records the information and how it makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. The aspiring managers were also taught the concept of Blockchain’s digital ledger of duplicate transactions and the process of distribution across the entire network of computer systems on the Blockchain.

The aspiring managers withdrew the in-depth insight on how Blockchain can offer solutions to strengthen trust among the supply chain sector in countries where the market is less regulated and organized. The aspiring managers were exposed to the most beautiful promises of the technology, which lies in the way it can strengthen the position of the people at the very beginning of the food chain. The aspiring managers also learned that Blockchain Technology Solutions increases the transparency in supply chains, which can ultimately raise awareness of the conditions under which producers and agricultural workers live and work and lead to increased power on the farmers’ side.
