Department of CSE-IoT in association with IoT Elite Club & IIC successfully conducted an Industrial Visit to National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) A-50, Sector-62, Noida,a renowned Centre of Excellence in Weather and Climate Modeling operating under the Ministry of Earth Sciences on April 25th, 2024.

The students of 2nd year, 4th Sem CSE-IoT Department along with faculty members Mr. Rajat Kishor Varshney and Mr. Anupam Kumar Saini visited NCMRWF for an Industrial visit.
This visit was mainly focused on to the concepts of Weather forecasting using Super Computer & AI technologies. Dr Balakrishnan Athiyaman - Senior Scientist & Head, HPC (NCMRWF) elaborate about High Perfoemace Compututing Data centre and show the latest HPC system CRAY XC40 system.
Their team of Scientist and Engineers explained about the organization and methods of working with different technologies. They illustrate about the distinct models used for the Weather Prediction and forecasting. They also explained about the Super Computers (MIHIR) and how it has been used in Weather prediction and analysis. Overall, the Industrial visit was very informative and beneficial for the students, they were so excited to see First Super Compter.
