Yoga is not merely a physical exercise to maintain your health, but instead, it’s a philosophy of life in order to keep oneself healthy, wealthy and wise. Yoga teaches us many lessons as to how to maintain one’s health, how to stay calm and focussed and eventually how to be successful in life by practising few yoga techniques within no time imbibing which one can reach the epitome of life.

Following this motto, GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), Greater Noida, organized a Yoga Workshop, “Aarogyam” on the 16th of January, 2021 in their campus at Knowledge Park-III, Greater Noida. The Yoga expert who delivered the session was Er. Rampal Singh, Member, Patanjali Yoga Samiti and a well-known name in the field of Yoga. The students were taught some of the above techniques to make their lives less cumbersome, enhance their potential and above all remain healthy through-out their lives.

The workshop began with the welcome address by Prof. Mayank Pandey, and felicitation of a memento to the guest and then handing over the stage to Er. Rampal Singh ji. He took over the session with some Gyan sharing with the PGDM students, faculties and the staff members. He started with some tips to control one’s senses by having a control over breathing through “Pranayaam”. He propagated the importance of breath-management and the role of practicing it in our routine life to energize our mind to enhance our concentration, memory, thinking and analytical ability. This was followed by some stretching exercises like jumping, tadasana, uttanasana, Markatasana, titliasana were some of the useful asanas taught by the Yogacharya to strengthen their muscles and boost their stamina. He gave several inputs on how to maintain a healthy, disease free and happy life by following some small yet beneficial tips of yoga which may also not consume much time. His teachings were of immense use, as in the present COVID-19 period staying fit and healthy have become the motto of life and GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS) took this initiative for the betterment of its students.

The workshop wrapped up with felicitating the guest with a shawl by Prof. Mayank Pandey and Prof. Pradeep Verma and vote of thanks by Dr. Shalini Sharma.
