National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission

National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) is an initiative of the Government's "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav".

The pan-India ambitious mission aims to provide awareness on intellectual property and its rights to students. This also aims to inculcate the spirit of creativity and innovation among students of higher education and ignite the spirit and inspire the students to innovate and protect their creations.

Intellectual Property Rights are the rights given to the creators over their creations of their minds or give the exclusive right over the use of his creation for a certain period of time.

The Department of Information Technology at GNIOT organized a session on “National Intellectual Property Rights” on 2nd May 2023 from 10:30 AM onwards at 1st floor Seminar Hall. The Guest of the Session was Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Sarkar, certified by NIPAM, Govt. of. India and Associated with Intellectual Property Office, India. He is Founder (Project Director) Post.Doc. (Singapore), PhD. (CS) (IIT). He cited numerous examples as how and In what way the students can be involved in novel approach of thinking, besides that how students can get their ideas confirmed for patenting at NO cost from authentic certified GOI personel.

The session was very informative for all students and the faculties present. It was well hosted by Ms. Uma Tomer, AP-IT, coordinated by Dr. Anand Dohare, AP-IT. The department is thankful to the students of IT Aditya, Anubhav, Belal, and Sonali who got the event executed in online mode by using their personal hardware and software tools.
