National War Memorial, New Delhi

PRAYAS the Social Club of GNIOT Institute of Professional Studies has organized a visit to the National War Memorial, New Delhi on the 104th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre for BCA/BBA and B.COM. 2nd year students.

The students were accompanied by two Faculty members Ms. Medha Srivastava and Mr. Rupendra Singh.

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place on 13 April 1919. It was where thousands of Indians lost their lives including women and children. They lost their lives to protect and safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of our country and War Memorial is a monument or edifice to celebrate a victory to commemorate those who died or were injured for the sake of the nation. It provides an opportunity for the visitors to develop a conscious connection with the site, the institution, and the people in whose memory the structure was built.

The memorial attempts to invoke a deep and moving experience and serves as a symbol of inspiration for future generations.

The visit to the National War Memorial helped to inculcate a sense of high moral values, sacrifice, national spirit, and a sense of belongingness for the country among the students.
