Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.

Practicing yoga is said to come with many benefits for both mental and physical health. There is no doubt about the importance of yoga for students. With today’s lifestyle, people tend to forget about their physical and mental health, accumulating stress and fatigue in the body. To address this issue, Spardhaa – The Sports Club, GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), Greater Noida organized Aarogyam – The Yoga Abhyaas organized by GIMS Greater Noida on August 13, 2021, after BRIDGE Course for PGDM 2021-23 batch.

The workshop was conducted under the Supervision of Col (Retd.) B.C. Yadav, Patron- Seva Bharti Gautam Buddha Nagar. The participants learned various life skill techniques during the Yoga Workshop. The yoga session was joined by the faculty, students, and staff of GIMS, Greater Noida. Col. Yadav expressed his views on the common problems faced by the students of new generations like depression, anxiety, and inability to find mental peace. Yoga incorporates breathing exercises, meditation, and poses designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress. Apart from the physical benefits, one of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person manage stress, which is known to have devastating effects on the body and mind.

Col. Yadav reiterated that Yoga can be very effective in developing coping skills and reaching a more positive outlook on life. Yoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person’s mental well-being. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centers attention, and sharpens concentration.

All the participants enjoyed the session and performed several Asanas taught by Col. B.C Yada Pranayama, BhujangAsana, Surya Namaskar, Basrika and many other breathing exercises to relieve stress and energize the mind and body . Overall the Aarogyam was a rewarding experience for everyone.
