It brings us immense pleasure to announce that the Department of Information Technology is going to organise a "Poster Making Competition" on the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction on October 11th, 2023.

In 1989, the United Nations General Assembly designated 13 October as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) to promote a global culture of disaster risk reduction. The International Day is an opportunity to acknowledge global progress in preventing and reducing disaster risk and losses.

Disaster risk reduction is aimed to  reduce the risk of disasters caused by human error, deliberate destruction, and building or equipment failures, all of which contribute to strengthening resilience and therefore to the achievement of sustainable development.
