Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):

  • PEO-1: Provide the knowledge of soil mechanics application and basic geotechnical engineering to analyze civil engineering earth related work.
  • PEO-2: To develop ability to design and perform experiments in the relevant discipline, and to acquire the ability to interpret and evaluate experimental results.
  • PEO-3: Grow professionally in their careers through continued development of technical, managerial, Oral and written communication skills for achievement of professional licensure, assumption of roles & responsibility and leadership in professional service.
  • PEO-4: Achieve their professional aims ethically and with cultural competency within an environment characterized by the diverse needs of society and the profession.
  • PEO-5: To develop among students a breadth of knowledge so that they are experts not only in Civil Engineering field but have knowledge of many other science and technological fields.
  • PEO-6: To develop an understanding among students of the human, social and business context in which they will utilize their skills.


PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • PO1:- Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply the knowledge of basic sciences and fundamental engineering concepts in solving complex civil engineering Problems and related fields.
  • PO2:- Problem Analysis: An ability to identify, formulate and analyze complex Civil engineering problems and interpret data to arrive at substantial conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • PO3:- Design/Development of solutions: An ability to design solutions for complex Civil engineering problems and design components that meet the specified need with appropriate considerations for public health and safety, the cultural and environmental considerations.
  • PO4:- Conduct investigations of complex problems: An Ability to use research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5:- Modern tool usage: An Ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Civil engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6:- The engineer and society: An Ability to apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practices.
  • PO7:- Environment and sustainability: An Ability to understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental context, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8:- Ethics: An ability to apply ethical practices and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO9:- Individual and team work: An Ability to function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO10:- Communication: An Ability to communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PO11:- Project Management and Finance: An ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in the team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO12:- Life-long Learning: An ability to recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning of the broadcast context of technological change.


PSO :

  • PSO-1: Professional Skill: The ability to understand, analyze and develop Foundation Designs. Apply theoretical Geotechnical engineering in the design of highways, Foundations and earth retaining structures in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the trade-offs involved in design choices.
  • PSO-2: Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to apply standard principles, practices and strategies for Earth retaining structures development and apply design and development principles in the construction of highways of varying complexity.
  • PSO-3: Successful Career: The ability to become Employee, Entrepreneur and/or Life Long Learner in the domain of highway construction.
